Board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. El-Khatib joined Blackstone Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2011. With over 14 years of experience in established practices treating a wide range of conditions, he provides pain management services for any and all types of pain. Some painful conditions he treats include headaches, back pain, extremity pain, cancer-related pain, and pain after a surgery, just to name a few. He takes a holistic approach to treating patient pain, with a goal of reducing pain as well as helping patients meet their quality of life goals such as increased physical activity, improved sleep and enjoying life more.

Dr. El-Khatib feels strongly that you do not need to live in pain. During your initial visit, he will obtain your general medical history, the history specific to your pain, and perform a physical examination. He may order or review lab tests or diagnostic studies. After diagnosing your pain problem, he will discuss the optimal approach to managing your pain with you. Extensive treatment options such as physical therapy, medications, nerve blocks, injections, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulators, or surgery are available.

In his free time, he enjoys movies, basketball, tennis and spending time with his wife and four children.
