JULIE WALDEN, MSN, FNP-C

Julie Walden earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire, as well as her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. Julie brings over 20 years of critical care and emergency trauma nursing care experience to Ortho Rhode Island, with a focus on sports medicine. She has also offered her skills as a nurse in remote areas of Tanzania, Africa, where she traveled to help provide medical relief aid.

Her passion for sports medicine was sparked by her daughter, a high-level competitive gymnast who has required sports medicine treatments and evaluations over the years. Seeking care for her daughter has driven Julie’s desire to help other athletes of all levels obtain their best performance and injury avoidance.

When not treating patients, Julie loves to travel the world. She has backpacked through Europe and visited South America, Africa, and many parts of the Caribbean. She also loves adventurous activities, such as skydiving and zip lining, and she will be waterfall repelling in Costa Rica. Julie enjoys the outdoors and being in nature, from going to the beach to hiking the mountains of New Hampshire. She has four children whose involvement in various sports keep her busy as well!
