    Job Summary:
    Post-anesthesia care unit nurses (PACU), also known as peri-anesthesia nurses or recovery room nurses, care for patients who are waking up from anesthesia after surgery. Patients may have difficulty regaining consciousness or endure side effects from anesthesia including pain, confusion, nausea, and difficulty breathing. Patients might be unable to articulate their pain so the PACU nurses need to proactively observe and act accordingly. They monitor post-operation vital signs, levels of consciousness, and assure patients safely wake from anesthesia. PACU nurses work in a high-pressure, fast-pace environment, making quick decisions.

        Job Summary:
        The Central Sterile Technician reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. CSR technician will perform duties to reprocess surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established decontamination cleaning high level disinfection (HLD) and sterilization procedures for all surgical procedures that require reprocessing of equipment. Follows all OSHA/AAMI procedures practices and safety precautions to decontaminate contents and equipment.

            Patient Access Agent

            Orthopedics Rhode Island – Warwick

            Ortho Rhode Island is seeking to hire 2 Patient Access Agents for our Warwick location. We offer the opportunity to work with world class physicians and clinicians in high-energy, patient-focused, results-oriented, state-of-the-art-clinics.

            Description

            The Patient Access Agent is the first point of contact for all Ortho Rhode Island patients who are contacting the company by telephone. The Patient Access Center Agent will be responsible for answering and triaging incoming calls to the proper location; all aspects of patient scheduling, including processing referrals; and managing consult requests. They will focus on delivering a consistent, and exceptional level of service, measured through observation, coaching and feedback.

            Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

            • Promptly answer calls using positive and clear communication to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression of the organization.
            • Handle all calls and referrals, in accordance with organization-identified metrics for productivity and desired service levels.
            • Ability to triage patients and accurately schedule them based on defined appointment booking protocols or navigate patient to the correct area of care for handling.
            • Schedule online and faxed requests for appointments.
            • Accurately and expeditiously register patients, and relate appointment protocols to patient
            • Work and support fellow team members, and peers through positive interactions, as we identify and continue efforts to enhance service excellence.
            • Use of Centricity, Exscribe, SRS, Phoenix and AllMeds EMRs for multiple office appointment scheduling, as well as various insurance portals for verification of insurance, and referral procurement.

              Medical Assistant

              Orthopedics Rhode Island – Providence

              Ortho Rhode Island is seeking to hire a Patient Navigator/Medical Assistant for our Providence location. We offer the opportunity to work with world class physicians and clinicians in high-energy, patient-focused, results-oriented, state-of-the-art-clinics.

              Description

              Our Medical Assistants navigate our patients through all facets of their visits by collecting patient information, providing patient care, and by managing and performing designated duties, such as applying casts, splints and dressings. The Medical Assistant strives to provide a white glove service to the patient during their visit and maintains patient flow throughout the clinic.

              Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

              • Prepares for patient visit by reviewing physician schedules, verification of required reports and referrals, completion of new patient paperwork/history as needed, entering forms, health history, and financial information in EMR
              • Welcomes patients by greeting them at the office and scans patient information such as ID and insurance card
              • Escorts patients to the exam room and verifies demographics, insurance, referrals/reports received, and credit card form
              • Receives and distributes TDI, FMLA, and Legal paperwork as necessary for prompt turnaround
              • Assess patient chart and assist patient to X-ray if needed
              • Assist providers in the treatment of patients by obtaining histories and vitals, preparing injections, setting up sterile fields, suture removal, dressing changes, cast applications, etc.
              • Completes patient visit by scheduling follow up appointments, MRI, Therapy, or completion of the Surgical Consent Form. Provides patient with necessary notes (work/school)
              • Verifying patient’s medical record is updated accurately and completely
              • Support patient calls and physician messages, including prescription refills, patient questions, etc.
              • Maintain exams rooms with adequate medical supplies, instruments, equipment and sterilization as required
              • Display strong sense of teamwork in daily interactions with all internal and external contacts
              • Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
