My interest in spine surgery was shaped during residency by a spine surgeon who became my mentor. I was deeply impressed by his clinical insight, technical skill, and the respect he earned from both patients and colleagues. Watching the meaningful relationships he built with his patients and the impact he had on their lives inspired me to follow a similar path.
My practice philosophy centers on listening, empathy, and education. I take the time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain their condition clearly, and guide them through their treatment options. My goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident in the plan we create together.
Patients should consider seeing a spine specialist when they are experiencing persistent back or neck pain or other spinal concerns. Spine conditions can be complex and often involve multiple factors. A specialist can accurately diagnose the cause of symptoms, answer questions, and develop a focused, personalized treatment plan—helping patients achieve better outcomes with a clear path to recovery.
There are exciting advancements in both the technical and biological aspects of spine care. Innovations in computer-assisted technology and artificial intelligence are allowing for more precise, minimally invasive procedures with faster recovery times. At the same time, progress in biologics and regenerative medicine is opening the door to treatments that may restore tissue and potentially reduce the need for more invasive surgery in the future.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active through sports and fitness, traveling, and exploring new places. I also enjoy gardening, history, and reading.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is collaborating with a dedicated care team to support our patients. I also value the relationships I build with patients—listening to their concerns, guiding them through treatment, and being part of their journey back to health.
