JOY DESOUSA, DPT, CSCS

Joy graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She joins Ortho Rhode Island with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings that exposed her to complex cardiopulmonary diagnoses and post-op care, as well as simple to complex orthopedic injuries. She is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Joy’s interest in sports medicine and orthopedics comes from growing up as a competitive gymnast, and spending her fair share of time in the physical therapy gym. Being a physical therapist empowers Joy to embrace her passion for health and wellness, while also helping patients achieve their goals, whether they’re returning to sport or returning to their daily routine. She is eager to help people reach their full potential, and to educate them on the importance of physical activity.

Outside of work, Joy likes running, weight training, and spending time with family.
