Telehealth

Pain and injuries don’t take breaks, even during a pandemic. That is why Ortho Rhode Island is pleased to offer Telehealth visits to Physical and Occupational Therapy patients as an alternative to coming into our clinics. Through your computer or smart phone, and in the comfort and safety of your own home, our highly trained therapists will provide you with detailed instructions on exercises and other interventions to get you back to better health. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice any concerns about your progress or difficulties that you are having. Telehealth visits will typically last 30 to 45 minutes. Your therapist will be able to provide you with detailed descriptions and pictures of your exercises and other self-care techniques.

Some things to plan for prior to your telehealth visit:

  • Our therapists use the ZOOM platform for Telehealth visits. You will receive an email from your therapist prior to your visit that will have the ZOOM link for your visit. Please ensure that we have your correct email address when scheduling your Telehealth visit.
  • If you are going to use a mobile device or smartphone, please download the ZOOM app prior to your appointment.
  • Ensure your device is connected to the internet with a strong connection.
  • Ensure that you have ample space to perform exercises and to demonstrate walking and moving to the therapist.
  • Be prepared with any weights and other equipment that may be helpful for you and your therapist.

If you have any questions prior to your appointment, please call our office and we would be happy to help you prepare for your Telehealth visit.
