Rachel Schwartz, PA-C, earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, the Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS), and the Rhode Island Academy of Physician Assistants (RIAPA).
Rachel specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, caring for patients at Ortho Rhode Island’s Warwick, Wakefield, and Providence offices. She assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, with particular focus on joint replacement surgery of the shoulder and knee and arthroscopic procedures. She also provides care at South County Hospital, Kent Hospital, and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.
Rachel discovered her passion for orthopedics during her clinical rotation at Ortho Rhode Island while in PA school. She was drawn to the hands-on, team-based approach to patient care and the opportunity to help people return to the activities they love. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a medical assistant, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care and communication.
Outside of her practice, Rachel enjoys painting, cooking, hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and relaxing at the beach.
