JOINT HEALTH
We all know water is essential, but it’s especially important for your joints. Staying properly hydrated helps keep joints lubricated, which reduces friction and helps keeps them moving smoothly. Less friction means less pain and stiffness, which is something we all desire.
Water also supports faster muscle recovery after exercise by helping repair tissues and flush out waste. Even mild dehydration can lead to increased joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation.
Remember, not all fluids hydrate equally, try to avoid sugary drinks such as soda and gatorade. Excess sugar can trigger inflammation, which isn’t great for your joints or your overall health.
If you’re looking to liven up your water, try infusing it with varying fruits, vegetables and herbs such as cucumber, jalapeño, lime, berries, mint, or ginger. Don’t be afraid to use your imagination there are so many delicious combinations!
