What Is Ortho RI Express?
Ortho RI Express is a walk-in clinic for acute orthopedic pain and injuries. We are available during our normal business hours and until 8pm on weekdays, and from 12pm-5pm on Saturdays. You can call ahead for a time slot or walk in.
What types of problems does Ortho RI Express treat?
Our most common complaints include sports injuries, falls, sprains/strains, fractures, and acute back pain. We are available to new or established patients with an injury that occurred in the last 3 days.
What can I expect at my visit?
You will be seen by one of our physician assistants who will obtain a history, order x-rays if warranted, and do a thorough physical exam. Depending on the diagnosis, you may leave with a prescription for medication or physical therapy. We are able to apply casts, splints, and braces. If follow-up is required, we will make an appointment with the appropriate specialist for you before you leave.
Is there anything that Ortho RI Express doesn’t do?
Ortho RI Express is designated for acute injuries (those that have happened in the last 3 days). We do not see chronic problems or provide refills of pain medications. We are not a same-day MRI facility. Rarely, very severe injuries may be sent to the emergency department.
