Run Stronger & Smarter with Ortho RI’s Running Performance Clinic

As a physical therapist, run coach, and competitive marathoner, I understand the frustration of being medically cleared after an injury, yet still feeling unprepared or lacking the confidence to return to racing. That gap between being healed and truly ready is exactly why we created the Running Performance Clinic at Ortho RI.

The Running Performance Clinic (RPC) helps runners move beyond rehab with personalized treatment plans designed to improve strength, mobility, performance, and long-term injury resilience. Whether you’re returning from injury, training for a race, or chasing a new personal best, we’re here to help you run stronger and smarter with confidence.

What does the Running Performance Clinic (RPC) include?
• Comprehensive Interview & Orthopedic Examination
A comprehensive review of your medical history and running goals, followed by run-specific performance testing and an assessment of mobility and movement patterns to identify imbalances or injury risks affecting performance or recovery.
• 3D Running Analysis with Runeasi Wearable Belt
A non-invasive sensor-based wearable that captures real-time 3D forces with every step. It detects impairments such as asymmetries, dynamic instabilities, and impact loading deficits that may be hard to identify through a basic treadmill analysis. Backed by over 10 years of research, it delivers biomechanical insights to improve form, boost performance, and support injury prevention and recovery.

• Jump Testing for Safe Running Mechanics
Testing includes jump assessments using the Runeasi belt, which provides real-time 3D data to evaluate explosiveness and reactivity, helping optimize safe running mechanics and overall performance.
• Customized Mobility, Strength & Conditioning Programs
Targeted exercises designed to improve performance and address weaknesses.
• Complimentary Running Drills
Guided drills to enhance form, efficiency, coordination and technique.
• Nutrition & Hydration Guidance
Guidance on optimal fueling and hydration to support your return to training and racing.
• Footwear Assessment
Ensuring your shoes support your mechanics and running goals.
Targeted Therapeutic Treatments
Soft tissue work, manual therapy, and modalities to aid recovery and performance as needed.
• Monthly Coaching Sessions
Individualized training plans, race preparation, and ongoing progress check-ins.

Who Is the RPC For?
The Running Performance Clinic serves runners and athletes at all levels—from beginners starting out to seasoned athletes striving for peak performance. Whether you’re running your first 5K, returning from injury, or sharpening your competitive edge, this program provides personalized care and performance strategies.

It’s also ideal for athletes having pain or difficulty with return to running-intensive sports like:
• Basketball
• Soccer
• Softball
• Baseball
• Lacrosse
• And more

Why Cash-Based Services?
Many ask why this program isn’t covered by insurance. Most insurance plans focus on returning you to basic function—not sport-specific performance.

By offering cash-based services, we can:

  • Spend dedicated one-on-one time during each session
  • Create individualized plans that extend beyond symptom resolution
  • Adapt treatments weekly based on your evolving needs
  • Focus on performance goals, return-to-run timelines, and injury prevention
  • Deliver strength, conditioning, and sport-specific training programs

This flexible model bridges the gap between rehab and peak performance—something traditional physical therapy care often cannot provide.
