DAVID N. VEGARI, MD, MBA

Dr. Vegari is a fellowship-trained joints surgeon with a focus on robotically assisted hip and knee replacement as well as revision surgery. He also performs arthroscopic knee surgery, fracture care, as well as non-operative management of the hip and knee. After earning his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Vegari completed his orthopedic residency at Thomas Jefferson University, and his fellowship training at OrthoCarolina. Dr. Vegari also earned his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of several peer-published papers, book chapters, and podium presentations.

Dr. Vegari chose to devote his career to joint replacement and robotic-assisted techniques because he believes it’s truly special to work with a patient who is hurting or suffering, and to help them regain their quality of life. He specializes in reconstruction of the hip and knee in adults, including total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and revision hip and knee replacement. Dr. Vegari is also a Total Joint Replacement Physician Co-Champion with Dr. Sidney Migliori. Together, they lead the Ortho RI Total Joint Replacement Program and serve as liaisons to the South County Health Total Joint Replacement Co-management Team.

Outside of his work at Ortho Rhode Island, Dr. Vegari enjoys traveling, skiing, and spending time with his family.
